The Japanese Yen has surged above 155.50 after Japan announced joint intervention with the US, sending shockwaves through foreign exchange markets.
Bloomberg reported that Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent are collaborating to stabilize the currency, a partnership unseen in decades.
Katayama stated that Japanese authorities conducted coordinated Yen-buying intervention with the US on Friday, emphasizing that officials will not hesitate to carry out more foreign exchange (FX) intervention with Washington.
