China's yuan remained steady against the US dollar on Friday as the greenback rebounded after setting new highs earlier in the week. The spot yuan opened at 6.7119 per dollar and was last trading at 6.7109, six pips firmer than its previous close.

The dollar held near its highest levels of the past week, with bond yields and oil prices pushing up due to renewed fears of energy supply disruptions in the Middle East.

Despite the dollar's strength, investors are cautious ahead of the US inflation data release later on Friday. The central bank set a strong fixing for the yuan, which may have contributed to its stability.
