Zelensky Lands in Canada for Defense, Energy Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Canada on September 9 for a three-day visit focused on strengthening defense, economic, and energy cooperation between Kyiv and Ottawa.

Zelensky will visit Calgary, Toronto, and North Bay through September 11 and is expected to address members of the Canadian government.

The talks will focus on expanding cooperation in defense, economy, and energy, while also addressing the human toll of Russia's war against Ukraine.

Zelensky said before the trip that he planned to discuss ballistic missile defense with Canadian officials, as it is one of Ukraine's key vulnerabilities due to Russia's long-range missile and drone attacks.

The Ukrainian president has also stated that Kyiv seeks to develop its own ballistic missile defense capabilities.
