Zimbabwe Delays Standalone Currency Amid Inflation Concerns
Zimbabwe's Secretary for Finance George Guvamatanga has ruled out introducing a standalone currency, the ZiG, until inflation is under control and the exchange rate is stable.
Guvamatanga made this statement at a budget review meeting in Harare on Wednesday. He emphasized that the country will not rush to phase out the US dollar.
The secretary's comments come as Zimbabwe continues to struggle with high inflation rates, which have been a major challenge for the economy.
