1 Million Attic Ladders Recalled Over Bolt Failure Risk

A safety recall has been issued for over 1 million attic stairway ladders sold at major retailers such as Home Depot and Lowe's. The recall affects products under brand names Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, and Century, which are aluminum or wood frame ladders with gas struts and handrails that fold into the attic.

The bolts on these ladders can break, causing falls and injuries, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). There have been 11 reports of bolt failure, including one incident where a person was injured in their neck, head, and back.

Clients are advised to stop using the ladders immediately.
