€105bn Revenue Piles Up for Google Amid Adtech Fine
The European Commission fined Google €2.95 billion for abusing its dominance in adtech last year, but the company has continued to rake in profits. According to new analysis, Google generated an estimated €105 billion in EU revenue since the fine was imposed.
This figure translates to around €288 million per day and over €2 billion every week in EU revenue alone.
It would take just a little more than 1 week for Google to cover the value of the fine at this rate.
Campaigners are urging Brussels to force structural changes on Google's ad business, arguing that fines alone are not enough to address the issue.
