21 Banks Unite for Dollar Stablecoin Launch in 2027
Twenty-one major financial institutions have joined forces to launch a dollar-denominated stablecoin. The group, which includes Goldman Sachs and Bank of America, plans to establish a new company by the second half of 2026.
The primary goal is to create a USD-stablecoin for payments and digital-asset transactions, with a market launch set for the first half of 2027.
Initially, the stablecoin will be pegged to the US dollar. The group aims to expand its offerings to other G7 currencies, starting with the euro.
