$2.3B Valued Starcloud Ramps Up Plans for 88K-Satellite AI Compute Network
Starcloud has secured $250 million in fresh funding at a valuation of $2.3 billion, more than doubling its valuation since March. The investment will support the company's ambitious plan to deploy an AI compute infrastructure on a massive scale through a constellation of 88,000 satellites.
The newly raised capital will also be used to expand manufacturing capacity and procure components for newer products, with Starcloud planning to build a 100,000-square-foot facility in Washington. The company is working with Nvidia on the development of orbital computing hardware, specifically designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions encountered in space.
This investment marks a significant milestone for Starcloud, which has now raised $450 million since its founding in 2024. Manhattan West led the funding round, joined by new investors Nvidia and Cisco Investments, alongside existing backers Benchmark, EQT, and Soma.
