A U.S. jury has awarded $29M in damages to the family of a victim who died in a plane crash involving a Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

The verdict was delivered in a Chicago court, where the lawsuit had been ongoing since 2019.

The plaintiffs alleged that Boeing's negligence led to the fatal accident on October 29, 2018, which claimed the lives of all 157 people on board Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302.

Boeing has faced numerous lawsuits and investigations following the two crashes of its 737 Max aircraft in 2018 and 2019.
