$3.1 Million Fine Paid by Boeing After Safety and Production Violations
Boeing has paid a $3.1 million fine to the FAA after the agency cited the manufacturer for safety and production violations at its 737 factory in Renton, Washington.
The FAA proposed the penalty in September 2025, citing hundreds of quality-system violations at Boeing's factory and Spirit AeroSystems' facility in Wichita, Kansas.
Additionally, the agency identified violations related to a January 2024 incident where a door plug separated from an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 during flight.
The FAA has maintained increased oversight of Boeing since the Alaska Airlines event, although it lifted a 737 MAX production cap in October 2025.
