$4.1 Billion Amazon Sale as Bezos Unloads Stock Under Pre-Set Plan

Jeff Bezos is selling $4.1 billion worth of Amazon stock under a pre-set plan that was established in November 2025. The sale comes at a time when Amazon's stock has reached an all-time high, closing Monday at a record high after the company reported quarterly results showing cloud computing growth ahead of expectations.

The shares being sold were worth about $4.07 billion at Monday's close, and this is not a one-off transaction. Bezos has been steadily selling Amazon stock through pre-set programs for years, usually under the 10b-5 rule that allows insiders to set a fixed schedule for selling stock far in advance.

The sale does not appear to be reacting to today's news, as the plan was put into place before Amazon's latest earnings and before the stock hit its record high. Despite the large dollar amount, this is just one part of a broader rally that has pushed Amazon's market value past $3 trillion.
