Boeing has increased its estimate of the costs of fulfilling customer agreements inherited from Spirit AeroSystems by $455 million. The total projected cost of these contracts now stands at $1.52 billion, approximately 43% higher than Boeing's initial estimate made in December 2025.

The company did not specify which customers or aircraft programs caused the increase. Boeing stated that its assessment of inherited obligations remains preliminary.

This development comes as Boeing continues to deliver a large number of aircraft. In the first eight months of 2026, the company handed over 418 planes, compared to 385 during the same period last year. The Spirit acquisition was completed on December 8, 2025, for approximately $8.4 billion.
