$4.9 Trillion Aviation Support Boom Looms Over Next Two Decades
Boeing has released its twenty-year outlook on commercial aviation, predicting a $4.9 trillion boom in support services by 2045. The projection is based on expected growth in global air traffic, which Boeing forecasts will double over the next two decades.
The manufacturer estimates that this expansion will require over 2.4 million new personnel, with specific job openings including 674,000 pilots, 728,000 maintenance technicians, and more than one million cabin crew members.
Eurasia is expected to lead regional services demand at $1.185 trillion, followed by North America and China. Boeing's Global Services Chief Executive Chris Raymond emphasized the importance of digital transformation in fleet support, highlighting the need for airlines to adopt data-driven maintenance practices and invest in human capital.
