$50 Million Disney Streaming Settlement Affects YouTube TV, DirecTV Subscribers
A $50 million partial settlement has been announced in the antitrust lawsuit Biddle v. The Walt Disney Company, affecting certain subscribers of YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream services.
The lawsuit alleges that Disney raised or stabilized prices for streaming live pay television services, causing subscribers to pay higher fees for services including YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream.
The settlement covers two groups: the YouTube TV Settlement Class and the DirecTV Stream Settlement Class. Eligible claimants who submit valid and timely claim forms may receive pro rata cash payments based on the length of their qualifying subscriptions.
