$500K Amazon Cargo Heist Foiled on Arizona Highways
A massive cargo theft ring was dismantled in Arizona after law enforcement agencies collaborated to intercept two stolen Amazon trucks on Interstate 10 and I-40. The operation, which began with a single truck intercepted by Detective Peery of the Coconino County Sheriff's Office, involved swift inter-agency communication and phone calls between officers.
The first truck was stopped on I-40, carrying a blue Amazon Prime cargo trailer valued at approximately $250,000. Further investigation led authorities to suspect that there was a second truck still at large, prompting Detective Peery to contact Phoenix Police Sergeant Jeffrey Gordon for assistance. The second trailer was eventually intercepted on Interstate 10 near Phoenix.
According to Sergeant Gordon, the total value of the recovered cargo is estimated to be around $500,000. This operation sends a clear message to interstate cargo thieves that they will not succeed in Arizona.
