$5.75 Billion Arms Deal for Saudi Arabia Approved Amid Ongoing Iran Conflict
The US State Department has approved two massive arms deals for Saudi Arabia, totaling $5.75 billion.
The first deal, worth $5 billion, includes the sale of Boeing-manufactured Joint Direct Attack Munitions-Extended Range precision bomb kits, which will be used to equip Saudi aircraft with advanced strike capabilities.
The second deal, valued at $750 million, involves the sale of 60 AGT-1500 tank engines used in M1 Abrams tanks, as well as containers, spare parts, and logistical and technical services provided by Honeywell.
The proposed sales aim to enhance Saudi Arabia's ability to meet current and future regional threats while improving interoperability with US forces and other Gulf nations.
