$5.75 Billion US Military Equipment Sale Sparks Regional Tensions
The US Department of Defense has acknowledged selling military equipment to Saudi Arabia and Iraq for a total value of $5.75 billion, according to reports.
The sale includes Joint Direct Attack Munitions-Large Range (JDAM-ER) bombs worth $5 billion from Boeing, anti-tank missiles AGT 1500 valued at $750 million from Honeywell, and other military equipment.
The latest deal comes as tensions escalate in the region. The US Department of Defense has also confirmed selling military equipment to Iraq, including helicopters and ammunition worth a total of $188 million.
