66-Year-Old Pharmaceutical Researcher Michelle L. Buscemi Passes Away
Michelle L. Buscemi, a 66-year-old resident of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on September 5, 2026.
Born on September 3, 1960, in Kingston, Pennsylvania, Michelle was the daughter of Patricia M. Buscemi and Joseph C. Buscemi.
She earned an Associate in Applied Science from Luzerne County Community College in 1987 and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Kutztown University in 1990. In 1996, she received a Basic Pharmaceutical Development Certificate through the School of Pharmacy at Temple University.
Michelle worked for Merck, where she contributed to the development of the chickenpox vaccine as part of her pharmaceutical research. Her love for science and fashion were two of her defining passions.
