JPMorgan Chase has announced its commitment to mobilize over $750 billion for the US housing market. This massive investment is part of the bank's 'American Dream Initiative,' which aims to increase the housing supply and promote homeownership in the United States.

The initiative plans to create and preserve more than 1 million housing units, helping approximately 500,000 people become homeowners. JPMorgan Chase will also expand its mortgage business, with an expected increase of over 40% in home loans, including support for first-time homebuyers and real estate developers.

The bank has already made a notable contribution to the San Francisco Bay Area housing market through public-private partnership models. For instance, it financed the Sophie Maxwell building, which enabled the construction of 105 affordable permanent rental apartments for middle-income residents in the Power Station development in the Dogpatch neighborhood.

JPMorgan Chase will assume the chairmanship of the new Housing Advisory Council of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to promote collaboration among businesses, governments, and other stakeholders and develop housing recommendations at various levels. According to Michelle Herrick, global head of commercial real estate at JPMorgan, 'An affordable and resilient housing market is essential to driving economic growth and increasing opportunity.'
