$799 Amex Business Platinum Fee May Not Be as High as It Seems

The American Express Business Platinum Card has an annual fee of $799, making it one of the most expensive credit cards in Canada. However, for incorporated businesses, this fee may not be as high as it seems.

The card offers up to $520 in credits each year, which can be used to reduce expenses that are already factored into a business's budget. These credits include travel, Dell purchases, and wireless services, all of which are generally deductible when incurred for business operations.

Once these credits are applied, the annual fee drops to an apparent cost of $279. Additionally, the annual fee itself may be deductible as a business expense, further reducing the card's real cost.
