A350-1000 Takes Over Flagship Role at Philippine Airlines
Philippine Airlines has taken delivery of its fourth Airbus A350-1000, registered as RP-C3513. The aircraft is replacing Boeing 777-300ERs on select routes, including a 15-hour Pacific route to San Francisco.
The A350-1000 now serves as the airline's flagship aircraft and is being used for ultra-long-haul operations. Although the 777-300ER will remain in the fleet long-term, the A350-1000 is slowly taking over its role due to its efficiency and range.
Philippine Airlines first ordered nine A350-1000s in 2023 and has since taken delivery of four out of the nine. The airline plans to deploy these aircraft on existing routes rather than launching new services.
