AAPL Stock Falls Amid Analysts' Assessments of New iPhone Demand

Apple's stock fell by about 1% on Tuesday as investors assessed the demand for its new iPhones and other products.

The decline comes as analysts weigh in on Apple's latest iPhone cycle, which includes a redesigned Siri AI assistant introduced through iOS 27. The update allows users to opt-in to access the new Siri, but some may need to join a waitlist first, according to CNBC.

Apple first announced an upgraded, personalized Siri in 2024, but its rollout was delayed last year. The company's latest hardware cycle and the introduction of the new Siri could boost customer upgrades, analysts say.

Deepwater Asset Management's Gene Munster expects Apple's staggered iPhone launch schedule to shift growth into the March and June quarters, with Wall Street predicting around 14% to 15% growth in the March quarter. He also notes that previous price increases have had little effect on customer retention.

Yorkville Ives' Dan Ives estimates that around 300 million iPhones have not been upgraded in over four years, creating a replacement opportunity as Apple adds more AI capabilities. He also expects the planned foldable iPhone, called Duo, to account for 15% to 20% of sales among Pro and Pro Max customers.
