AAPL Stock Soars 2,256% Under Tim Cook's Leadership
Tim Cook's tenure as CEO of Apple has come to an end after 15 years, with the company's stock price rising by a staggering 2,256% under his leadership. On August 24, 2011, when Cook took over following Steve Jobs' passing, AAPL stock closed at $13.35 per share. Today, it stands at $314.54 on a split-adjusted basis.
An investment of $10,000 in Apple's stock on Cook's first day as CEO would now be worth $289,500, including reinvested dividends. The company's market capitalization has grown from $350 billion in 2011 to nearly $5 trillion today.
Cook oversaw the expansion of existing products like the iPhone and introduced new consumer electronics such as the Apple Watch. He also built Apple's global supply chain and transformed the company into a services giant, launching Apple Pay, credit cards, and Apple TV+ streaming service.
