Abel Concentrates Berkshire's $360 Billion Portfolio on Top Stocks
Greg Abel has taken over as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, following Warren Buffett's retirement on December 31. The $360 billion investment portfolio is now under Abel's control.
Despite some changes in the first quarter, both Buffett and Abel share a similar approach to investing: concentrating assets in their best ideas. As of September 4, nearly 82% of Berkshire Hathaway's invested assets were in just 10 superstar stocks.
The top holdings include Apple ($72.93 billion), American Express ($49.45 billion), Alphabet ($35.78 billion), and Coca-Cola ($35.23 billion). Tech stocks are now on the menu, with Alphabet being a notable addition to the portfolio under Abel's management.
Financial stocks remain a key element of Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio, with companies like American Express, Bank of America, Moody's, and Chubb making up close to 29% of invested assets. The Oracle of Omaha's 'indefinite' holdings, including Coca-Cola and Amex, are also still present in the portfolio.
