Abel Continues Buffett's AI Bet on Alphabet
Greg Abel, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has continued to buy shares of Alphabet in Q2, following in the footsteps of his predecessor Warren Buffett. This is not the first time Alphabet has been a favorite stock of Buffett's, as he initiated a position in the company in the third quarter of 2025.
Alphabet's revenue growth has been impressive recently, with the company's overall revenue soaring 24% year over year in Q2. Google Cloud, one of Alphabet's businesses, saw its revenue increase by an impressive 82% year over year to $24.8 billion and generated $8.8 billion in operating income.
Despite its incredible success, Alphabet stock isn't too expensive, with a price-to-earnings ratio of about 23 times next year's earnings. Berkshire Hathaway has dramatically increased its holdings in Alphabet, buying around 48 million shares during Q2, which equates to approximately $16.3 billion at today's prices.
