Abel Invests $4.2B in Berkshire's Top Stock Pick
Greg Abel, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has invested $4.2 billion in the conglomerate's all-time favorite stock. This move is a nod to Warren Buffett, who previously held this position and left behind a legacy as one of the most successful investors in history.
Buffett acquired a controlling stake in Berkshire Hathaway in 1965 when it was struggling as a textiles company. He transformed it into a holding vehicle for his various investments, focusing on companies with steady growth, reliable profits, and strong management teams.
One of Buffett's favorite stocks is Apple, where he invested $38 billion between 2016 and 2023. The position was worth over $170 billion by the end of 2023 and accounted for half the value of Berkshire's entire stock portfolio at that time.
