Accenture to Pay $25M for Alleged DEI Practices
IT consulting firm Accenture has agreed to pay $25 million to settle allegations of diversity practices made by the U.S. Department of Justice. The settlement comes as part of a broader crackdown on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies initiated by the Trump administration.
The Justice Department alleged that Accenture considered race and sex when making hiring and promotion decisions to achieve demographic goals. However, Accenture denied engaging in discrimination and admitted no liability in the settlement agreement.
This is not the first company to face penalties for its DEI practices. Earlier this year, IBM agreed to pay $17 million to settle a similar U.S. government probe, while Deloitte paid $21.5 million to resolve a DOJ investigation into diversity practices.
