Ackman Adds Big Names to Portfolio in Major Overhaul
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman has overhauled his portfolio with six new investments, including Netflix, Visa, and Mastercard. These additions mark the biggest overhaul in years for Ackman's funds, which traditionally own no more than a dozen companies.
Ackman said he believes these firms' earnings are poised for strong growth, making them attractive investment opportunities. He acquired shares starting in the second quarter of this year and will hold them in his investment funds, including Pershing Square USA.
Pershing Square USA is one of Ackman's newest offerings, listed on the New York Stock Exchange in April. The fund has performed strongly over the long haul but has faced challenges recently, with a 3.5% decline through July and a 9.2% loss for London-listed Pershing Square Holdings.
Ackman's portfolio now includes Microsoft, Uber Technologies, Meta Platforms, Amazon, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, among others. He was set to discuss the new investments on an analyst call later Thursday.
