Ackman Boosts Portfolio with Netflix, Visa, and Mastercard
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman has made significant changes to his portfolio, adding six new holdings in what he calls his biggest overhaul in years. The new additions include Netflix, Visa, Mastercard, Alcon, Intercontinental Exchange, and S&P Global. These companies join existing holdings such as Microsoft, Uber Technologies, Meta Platforms, Amazon, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac.
Ackman believes these firms' earnings are poised for strong growth, which he views as the greatest driver of investment value over time. The new names will likely show up in 13F filings required by the Securities and Exchange Commission at the end of the previous quarter.
Pershing Square USA, Ackman's newest offering listed on the New York Stock Exchange in April, is one of the funds investing in these companies. Through July, Pershing Square USA was down 3.5% for the year, while London-listed Pershing Square Holdings was down 9.2%, compared with a 10% gain for the S&P 500 total return index.
Ackman has faced challenges recently, but he remains optimistic about the future of these companies. He has a history of successfully identifying undervalued assets and turning them into profitable investments.
