Ackman Doubles Down on Meta and Microsoft Amid Magnificent Seven Shake-Up
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman's hedge fund Pershing Square Capital has released its portfolio for the second quarter, revealing significant changes to its bets on the 'Magnificent Seven' stocks.
The Magnificent Seven stocks are a group of high-growth companies that have been favored by Ackman since 2023. The latest 13F filing shows that Ackman has sold out of Alphabet stock completely, following cuts to positions in both Class A and Class C shares in recent quarters.
Ackman also cut his position in Amazon stock by 25% in the second quarter, after increasing it by 19% in the first quarter. In contrast, his bets on Meta and Microsoft saw significant increases, with the Meta position growing by 20.1% and the Microsoft position growing by 9.8%.
At the end of the quarter, three of the Magnificent Seven stocks were in the top 10: Microsoft with $2.32 billion, Amazon with $2.04 billion, and Meta with $1.80 billion. Ackman has expressed his enthusiasm for both Meta and Microsoft, citing their potential for long-term growth and undervalued stock prices.
Ackman's bets on the Magnificent Seven stocks have been a key focus of attention in recent years, with some investors expressing caution over the high valuations of these companies. Despite this, Ackman remains bullish on the group, highlighting their potential for strong returns going forward.
