Aerospace Engineer Kevin Margeson Dies at 61 After Battle With Cancer

Kevin Margeson, a renowned aerospace engineer and space policy expert, passed away on September 7th, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. He was 61 years old.

Born on June 4, 1965, at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, Kevin grew up in Maquoketa, Iowa, and later moved to Montrose, Colorado, where he graduated from Montrose High School. He was an Eagle Scout and attended Colorado State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1989.

Kevin's career spanned multiple industries, including aerospace, automotive, and agriculture. He held positions at Honeywell, Kubota, Motorola, EDS, and Anheuser-Busch, where he worked on various projects, including the International Space Station program and the Orion Spacecraft program.

A dedicated husband and family man, Kevin married his wife Veronica in 2025 and cherished sharing experiences with her. He loved traveling, attending baseball games, and listening to Jimmy Buffett's music. A visitation was held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home on September 19th, where friends and family gathered to say their goodbyes.
