Afcom Holdings Bolsters Cargo Capacity with Four Boeing 777-8F Freighters

Afcom Holdings is expanding its logistics strategy by acquiring four Boeing 777-8F freighter aircraft, marking a significant shift from its current focus on smaller, narrow-body cargo operations. The company has signed a preliminary agreement with Boeing to purchase these wide-body freighters, which are designed for flights lasting over 12 hours and offer roughly five times the cargo capacity of Afcom's existing Boeing 737-800 fleet.

The new aircraft will enable Afcom to service high-demand international trade corridors that it currently cannot reach. The company anticipates these new assets will enter service by 2028, increasing its cargo capacity fivefold by then. This expansion follows a recent effort by Afcom Holdings to strengthen its balance sheet, raising ₹199.85 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) in May 2026.

The acquisition involves significant capital spending, which will be a key area for investors to monitor. Managing a larger, more complex fleet requires new expertise, and the company will need to ensure that cargo demand in these new long-haul corridors justifies the higher operating costs.
