Afcom Holdings Secures Deal for Up to Four Boeing B777-8F Freighters
Afcom Holdings Limited has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Boeing to acquire up to four B777-8F freighters, marking a significant strategic step in expanding its long-haul air freight capabilities.
The agreement was inked on September 2, 2026, and the carrier plans to transition from smaller narrowbody freighters like the Boeing 737-800 to heavy widebody freighters. The B777-8F represents Boeing's most advanced twin-engine freighter, offering a payload capacity exceeding 110 metric tons alongside extended intercontinental range.
The jet features cutting-edge GE9X engines and modern carbon-fiber composite wings, delivering a 30 percent improvement in fuel efficiency and carbon emissions compared to older tri- and quad-engine cargo planes.
