Africa's Aviation Market Set for Explosive Growth Through 2045
Africa's aviation market is expected to undergo significant growth over the next two decades, according to Boeing's latest forecast. By 2045, the continent's commercial fleet is projected to double in size from its current 755 aircraft to 1,625.
The growth will be driven by population expansion, urbanization, and improving infrastructure, leading to a nearly 6% annual increase in passenger traffic. Intra-African connectivity is also expected to play a key role in the expansion.
Single-aisle aircraft will account for the bulk of deliveries, with Boeing forecasting 870 new jets as airlines expand their domestic and regional networks. Another 240 widebodies are expected to support longer range operations and fleet modernization.
