Africa's commercial aviation market is expected to undergo significant growth over the next two decades, according to a new forecast from Boeing. The company predicts that the continent's fleet will more than double from 755 aircraft in 2025 to 1,625 by 2045, driven by nearly 6% annual passenger traffic growth.

This expansion will create demand for an additional 22,000 pilots over the 20-year period, as well as 25,000 maintenance technicians and 28,000 cabin crew members. Boeing's forecast also projects a total of 75,000 new commercial aviation professionals will be needed in Africa between 2026 and 2045.

The company expects single-aisle aircraft to account for approximately 75% of the projected deliveries, with widebody demand expected to more than double as airlines modernize their fleets and expand long-haul networks. Boeing values Africa's commercial aviation services and support requirement at $140 billion through 2045.
