AI Adoption Halted by Customer Experience Readiness
Muj Choudhry, CEO of RocketPhone.ai and former Director at Salesforce, believes that enterprise AI investment is facing a major hurdle in delivering commercial results. The challenge lies not in choosing the right AI platform but rather in addressing disconnected data, cumbersome processes, and operational realities behind customer service.
Choudhry points to Salesforce's acquisition history as a complicating factor in integrating its various assets, including data, integration, analytics, and AI. This disjointed approach can hinder the company's ability to deliver a coherent customer and employee experience.
For CX teams, readiness is the immediate issue, with customer data often scattered across CRM platforms, contact centers, field-service tools, and phone conversations. Without this context, AI can only provide generic answers.
Choudhry emphasizes that AI is not a panacea for all ills but rather a tool to support improvement efforts. He shares an example of how analyzing calls between customers and field engineers in real-time can flag potential faults before appointments, reducing wasted visits and improving customer outcomes.
