AI Docs Assistant: Assuta & Microsoft Partner on Revolutionary Medical System
Assuta Medical Centers and Microsoft are working together to develop an artificial intelligence system that will serve as a personal assistant for doctors. The AI, set to launch within a year, will collect relevant medical information, summarize test results and previous documents, document meetings with the patient, and automatically draft visit summaries.
The goal of the project is to relieve doctors of documentation and search tasks, allowing them to focus on examinations, conversations, and medical decision-making. The AI system will read the medical record and present important information before each meeting, reducing the time spent locating information within large volumes of documents.
During visits, the system will listen to the conversation between the doctor and patient, producing an organized transcript that is then processed into a complete medical document. Doctors will review, correct, and approve the document before it is added to the medical record.
The AI system is designed to assist after visits as well, identifying when patients require tests or additional appointments, locating suitable times, and scheduling follow-up visits based on medical need and availability.
