Goldman Sachs has found that AI is impacting global labour markets across developed economies. The firm analyzed over 800 occupations and found that industries with high exposure to AI automation have seen slower job openings growth since mid-2022.

The impact of AI on employment varies depending on the industry and seniority level, but it's most evident in countries like Germany, Australia, and the US. Employment in information and communication services has slowed down across all major developed economies since 2022.

Goldman Sachs found that highly AI-exposed industries such as call centres, software publishing, management consulting, and advertising have seen a sharp decline in employment below their historical trend. The firm concluded that AI-related hiring pressures are already visible in global employment data but remain limited to select industries and workers.
