AI Frenzy Drives Nvidia, Sandisk to New Heights, Amazon Sees Market Share Gains
Nvidia continues to report impressive earnings as AI demand heats up. The company's GPUs have become essential in data centers, and its recent earnings report shows a 106% year-over-year revenue surge in its fiscal 2027 second quarter. This growth is accelerating thanks to the 'golden age of new AI labs and start-ups' that are increasing demand for chips.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang cited this trend as a major catalyst, saying it's a time when physical AI is coming online. The company's net income grew by 126% year over year, outpacing revenue growth in the process. Nvidia closed out the quarter with a 62% net profit margin.
Sandisk is growing faster than Nvidia and has secured multiyear deals with top customers. These partnerships offer more revenue visibility, and Sandisk expects strong financial growth and shareholder returns through fiscal 2030 at a minimum. The company's net income was up by 91% sequentially, and it closed the quarter with a 77% net profit margin.
Amazon is gaining market share in multiple key industries, including e-commerce, cloud computing, advertising, and AI. Its online marketplace still brings in the majority of its sales, but Amazon Web Services revenue has been accelerating for multiple quarters, including a 37% year-over-year jump in Q2.
