AI-Powered Music Video Scales Human Authorship
Rise New York & Partners and WAAW by Alok have collaborated on an innovative project that uses AI to create an adaptive music video for DJ Alok's brand. The goal was to turn a product purchase into an exclusive, personalized music video.
The agency began with strict human authorship, creating one official film defined by Alok's music and Brazilian illustrator Rogério Puhl's pop-art style. They then built a multiproduct digital ecosystem that weaves personal choices, called a 'Beat Profile,' alongside live signals directly into the film.
To achieve this, they used various Google AI tools, including Gemini Omni, Google Maps API, Google Weather API, YouTube & Trends feeds, Vertex AI, and Veo. These tools allowed them to adapt the video across 50 distinct fan worlds while keeping the original music master unchanged.
Rise implemented an 'Artistic DNA Gate' to preserve the integrity of the official film. A team of 10 creators evaluated the AI-generated outputs against five strict criteria for 16 weeks, resulting in only 4,320 (18.6%) clearing the gate. The remaining 81.4% were rejected or returned for further generation and refinement.
The experiment debunked the myth that human creative vision must be surrendered to machines. Instead, it proved that AI can scale work without replacing human authorship, providing a new model for adaptive brand experiences.
