Microsoft's Vice President Taesoo Kim believes AI is changing the cybersecurity game. In an interview, he stated that AI can now scan vast amounts of attack code, making it comparable to attackers for the first time.

Kim emphasized the importance of operational systems and governance in cybersecurity, rather than relying solely on AI models. He pointed out that legacy code with no one left to read or understand it is a significant vulnerability, but AI can re-analyze this code.

The VP noted that finding vulnerabilities is not enough; defenders must also verify, prove, and patch them. This requires a closed-loop system where multiple models and agents work together to discover, verify, and confirm reproducibility of vulnerabilities.
