Air France Boeing 777 Turns Back to Paris After Emergency Declaration
An Air France Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, just 24 years old and carrying passengers to Ottawa, was forced to turn back to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) due to a cabin pressurization system malfunction.
The crew of Flight AF328 squawked the international emergency code 7700 after encountering an issue at 22,000 feet during climb, prompting them to initiate a U-turn and execute a fuel dump over designated airspace before returning to Paris.
No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew, but the flight was delayed by about an hour. After a thorough maintenance inspection on the ground, technicians cleared the aircraft for service, allowing it to depart Paris again at 17:07 local time and resume its journey to Ottawa International Airport (YOW).
