Air India Expands in Canada with New Mumbai-Toronto Route
Air India has expanded its operations in Canada by launching a new non-stop service between Mumbai and Toronto. The airline will operate three weekly flights on this route from October 25, 2026, to March 26, 2027, using upgraded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. This new service will provide seamless onward connections through Air India's hubs in Mumbai and Delhi to various destinations.
The deployment of the brand-new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the Delhi-Toronto route is also part of Air India's winter schedule expansion. Seven out of ten weekly flights from Delhi to Toronto will be operated by this new aircraft, with the remaining three services initially continuing with upgraded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft before transitioning to the Boeing 787-9 from January 2027.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India, said that Canada is one of the airline's most important international markets. The launch of the seasonal Mumbai-Toronto service will provide travellers with more choice and convenience during the festive and holiday season.
