Air India Welcomes Fourth Boeing 787-9 to Its Fleet

Air India has taken delivery of its fourth Boeing 787-9 aircraft, VT-AWD, marking a significant milestone in the airline's fleet renewal program. The plane was delivered from Boeing in Everett, Washington, and will now become part of Air India's fleet.

The process of accepting the new aircraft involved months of work by engineering, product, customer experience, and operational teams. Yuvraj Puri, Chief Manager, Technical Services (Engineering), led Air India's acceptance team, which reviewed specifications covering cabin, systems, avionics, engines, and other technical areas.

The Boeing 787-9 features Bluetooth-enabled inflight entertainment systems, allowing passengers in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class to connect wireless headphones to seatback screens. It also has electronically dimmable windows that can be controlled through the inflight entertainment system.
