Air India's Boeing Grounding Woes Continue with VT-ALO Still Stuck in Nagpur

Air India's Boeing 777 fleet has been plagued by maintenance issues in Nagpur, with another aircraft grounded due to a critical part being removed. The VT-ALO, which arrived at the Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility in May for an overhaul, still awaits the return of its slat component.

The development is reminiscent of another Boeing 777, VT-ALL, which remained stranded at the Nagpur MRO for six years after arriving for maintenance. Components were repeatedly removed from VT-ALL to be fitted on other Air India planes.

A senior AIESL official confirmed that a replacement spare slat was expected to arrive in Nagpur soon, allowing VT-ALO to return to service.
