Airbus and Boeing Defy Challenges with Strong Delivery Performance
Airbus and Boeing have both seen an improvement in their delivery performance this year compared to last year, despite facing various challenges.
According to data released by Airbus and Boeing, as of 2026, Airbus has delivered 475 aircraft, outpacing its 434 deliveries at the same point in 2025. Meanwhile, Boeing has delivered 418 aircraft so far in 2026, up from 385 last year.
The delivery performance of both companies has been under scrutiny this year due to quality concerns and engine shortages. However, despite these challenges, they have managed to improve their numbers from last year.
One notable development is that Airbus delivered 57 aircraft to 31 customers in August 2026, down from 67 in July 2026. Additionally, Boeing saw a drop in Dreamliner deliveries, with only four being delivered to customers in August 2026, compared to 10 in July.
In terms of orders, Airbus received 67 last month, including an order for 40 A321neos from Shenzhen Airlines and eight A350Fs from an undisclosed customer. Boeing, on the other hand, received 15 orders from four undisclosed customers, with one of them ordering 10 787-9s.
