Airbus Holds Firm as Delivery Numbers Soften
Despite a lull in July deliveries, Airbus maintained its position as a leader in the aviation industry. The European planemaker handed over 67 jets to 39 customers last month, down from the 89 aircraft delivered in June and the 81 in May.
This reduction did little to dent Airbus' half-year lead over Boeing, with the company still on track to meet its full-year target of roughly 870 deliveries. The year-to-date total stands at 418 aircraft, up from 373 at the same point in 2025.
The order book remains strong, with July seeing 204 gross orders, many of which were a result of trailing effects from the Farnborough Airshow. Notably, SMBC Aviation Capital accounted for 100 A320neo-family jets, while Riyadh Air added six A350-1000s and China Eastern ordered 25 A330-900s.
Looking ahead to the second half, analysts at Berenberg acknowledge that Airbus' operational strength has driven gains in revenue and adjusted EBIT. However, they also point to rising research spending and personnel costs as potential headwinds for the company.
