Airbus Maintains Delivery Lead Over Boeing Mid-Year
Halfway through 2026, Airbus maintains its lead over Boeing in aircraft deliveries. The European planemaker handed over 67 jets to 39 customers in July, a decrease from June and May's numbers but still a respectable total.
The running total paints a clearer picture of the situation: Airbus has delivered 418 jets so far this year, compared to 373 at the same point in 2025. Boeing, which is experiencing its strongest run since 2018, sits at around 365 deliveries through July, according to estimates.
While both figures are healthy considering the industry's ongoing supply-chain issues and engine shortages, Airbus remains ahead in the delivery race. The company's CEO, Guillaume Faury, attributes a 15% increase in first-half deliveries over last year to steadier engine supplies.
The A320neo family is driving Airbus's volume growth, with IndiGo taking seven more aircraft in July and China Southern collecting four. Emirates also received three widebody A350-900s during the month.
