Airbus Surges Ahead as Boeing Narrows Losses Amid Higher Deliveries

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus reported strong financial results for the first half of 2026. Revenue increased by 12% to €33.2 billion, driven primarily by a higher number of commercial aircraft deliveries. Adjusted operating profit rose by 24% to €2.73 billion, while reported operating profit increased by 70% to €2.75 billion.

Airbus handed over 351 aircraft during the first half of the year, with deliveries including 44 Airbus A220s, 271 A320 Family aircraft, ten A330s and 26 A350s. Revenue in its commercial aircraft division increased by 15% to €23.9 billion, while adjusted operating profit rose to nearly €2 billion.

Boeing, on the other hand, reported improved financial results but remained in the red despite a noticeable improvement in its performance. The US manufacturer generated revenue of $46.8 billion in the first half of the year, 11% more than a year earlier. Operating profit amounted to $604 million, more than double the $285 million recorded in the same period last year.

However, Boeing's commercial aircraft division remains loss-making and the company as a whole has yet to return to net profitability.
