Aircraft Set to Replace Delta's Aging Boeing 767 Fleet

Delta Air Lines is facing the end of an era as its Boeing 767 fleet approaches retirement. The airline operates 57 767-300ER and 767-400ER jets, which have been in service since the 1980s.

The 767-300ER has been with Delta since 1988, initially serving international destinations alongside McDonnell Douglas MD-11s. In 1997, Delta became the launch customer for the 767-400ER, intended for both long-haul international and high-density domestic routes.

The A330neo is seen as a likely replacement for the aging Boeing 767s. With its slightly wider cabin and similar maximum seating capacity to the 767-400ER, it would offer Delta a modern platform with new Delta One Suites and up to 25% lower fuel consumption.
